Tastes of the Hill: A Multicultural Food Festival - October 4, 2009On October 4, the Town of Richmond Hill hosted its 3rd annual Tastes of the Hill multicultural food festival. For only $15 festival-goers enjoyed a sensational variety of foods from over 30 of Richmond Hill's finest establishments from Chinese, Japanese and Persian to Italian, Indian, Thai and Greek. The day was full of food and entertainment, and all proceeds went to 2 local charities. Mosaic Interfaith Out of the Cold program was one of the recipients! Our sincere thanks to the Town of Richmond Hill, organizer Regional Councilor Vito Spatafora, and the event committee!
MIOTC now offers shelters 4 nights a week! MIOTC has always offered shelters 2 nights a week on Wednesday and Friday nights. This year, MIOTC programs will be available on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights. Due to the addition of a new site and some scheduling changes, we have spread out our dates to cover more nights during colder months. St. Luke's Catholic Parish which used to operate on Friday nights from November to January, will now be operating on Thursday nights from December to February. Our goal is to meet the needs of people and provide services in the best possible way. We are continually reviewing our services and the needs of our clients in an effort to provide help to those in need efficiently and compassionately.
New Services at all MIOTC sites! On-Site Employment Counseling! In January 2010, we introduced a new service available at all MIOTC shelters. In addition to overnight beds, meals, clothing and on-site health care, we now offer our clients an employment counselor. Our employment counseling program can help clients with job search, resume preparation, individual assessments and counseling. We also provide an on-site computer and internet access to help individual receive immediate employment support! Our Other Services:
